JohLea Johnson

My name is JohLea Johnson and I am a 20-year-old college student in my third year at the University of Oklahoma. I am working towards my bachelors in Women & Gender Studies and a minor in Spanish. I grew up as a military kid spending the first half of my life in Germany and the second in upstate New York. In my two decades, I’ve traveled to plenty of countries and explored many cultures that only made me want to learn more, but also reach out to the people beyond the tourist attractions. I envision myself traveling the world and I have an idea of what I want to do, but it is difficult to put into words. Every day I enjoy exploring my skills in the arts and culinary adventures, but I’ve always felt that my purpose was to care for others in search of independence, strength, and the support to care for themselves. Through personal experience and mere interest, I have always valued mental health to be amongst the highest of importance in our daily lives. I believe it is necessary to cater to both our physical bodies as well as the mind. I hope to be an asset to the Assuaged team and find the path towards fulfilling my purpose while exploring my many interests in food, healthy lifestyles, and people.
