What are the benefits of hemp milk?


This nutty-flavored milk contains many health benefits. Hemp milk has a high level of calcium, even more than dairy milk! This is great for building and maintaining strong bones. It contains essential Omega 3 and Omega 6 which keep your skin looking fresh and healthy. 


These vital nutrients are key to protecting the heart and lowering blood pressure. Hemp milk is also rich in phosphorus, magnesium, and zinc which improve memory and develop immunity. 


How to use Hemp Milk


Once you make your homemade hemp milk, there are many ways you can use it and incorporate it into your diet. You can drink it on its own or add it to your favorite cereal for an easy breakfast option. It can be used in baked goods or smoothies. You can add it to your coffee for a creamy and smooth drink. 


Depending on what you decide to use your hemp milk for, make sure to never boil it. Doing so can change the smooth texture and thin it out. The high heat will also strip the milk of its healthy nutrients. If you need to heat your milk, do it on a low heat and stir continuously. 


What do I need to make hemp milk at home?


  • Hemp Seeds - the most crucial ingredient that will make up the base of the milk
  • Water - used to give the milk its creamy consistency 
  • Vanilla Extract- this will add the perfect flavor when drinking the milk or using it in different recipes
  • Agave Syrup - adds the needed sweetness to this recipe
  • Pink Himalayan Salt - will balance the sweetness in the milk for a well rounded flavor

How to Make Hemp Milk

  1. Add hemp seeds, agave syrup, and vanilla extract into a blender with 2 cups of water. Blend for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Strain blended mixture with a fine-mesh strainer. Use a funnel to pour into a cup to separate what was not blended.
  3. Optional* Take the remaining cup of water with leftover seeds into the blender and mix again about 3 minutes to be sure to get full use of hemp seeds. Strain into the main container with strained hemp milk.
  4. It's best to quickly strain again 2-3 more time depending on preference.
  5. Either refrigerate until chilled or added ice and put back on the blender for instantly cool nutritious beverage. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
