What Yogurt Is Vegan Friendly?


Cashew yogurt is a healthy dairy-free vegan alternative that is amazing on its own and as a substitute in recipes. Vegan sour cream can also be used as an alternative. Plain soy yogurt can be used as a dairy-free vegan option paired with gyros, falafel, sandwiches, or even vegetables.

Vegan Lime Tzatziki Sauce

Vegan Lime Tzatziki Sauce

Yield: 1.5 cups

  • 1 1/2 cups cashew yogurt (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp dried dill or 1/4 cup fresh, chopped dill
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan pink salt
  • 1/2 cucumber -- washed, dried, and unpeeled


How To Make Vegan Lime Tzatziki Sauce

  1. Combine the first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl and set aside.
  2. Shred the cucumber into a kitchen strainer. Use the thick side of the grater, as if you were shredding a potato. Place strainer over sink and, with a paper towel, squeeze out as much liquid as you can.
  3. Stir cucumber ribbons into base and adjust salt, pepper, and lime, if necessary.
