I’m a craniofacial awareness advocate by day, and by night I often delve into researching topics related to physical wellness and special needs. I am unable to do much offline because of my medical illnesses, but learning things of educational value is very rewarding, and it never gets boring. I’m a member of over one-thousand groups on social media, and I examine cases of sick craniofacial children for purposes of mastering my own wellness and helping others to do the same. Parents often share their experiences in hopes to retrieve answers that they can’t get from their doctors. It was very depressing to see so many frightened and perplexed parents spend time in the hospital with their children this holiday season. Our community has suffered many tragic losses, including one just this last week. Most of these online groups cater to the parental needs of specific craniofacial disorders and other disabilities that are very similar. I’ve gotten to know them all. [*Craniofacial disorders*](https://www.facebook.com/groups/CraniofacialEventsConnection/permalink/355955228159284/) *consist of physical internal and external malformations that range in severity, but often affect the face, eyes, sinuses, ears, heart, physical development, genitals, esophagus, and trachea. * Cranial facial disfigurement is caused by the lack of bones and tissues in the face. The malformations impact the internal organs causing many the need for *reconstructive surgeries, gastric feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilation, heart failure devices, and physical therapy.* These conditions frequently are induced by hereditary factors. However, many cases do not carry any genetic ties. I’ve taken notice that many sick children born with[craniofacial conditions](https://www.facebook.com/groups/CraniofacialEventsConnection/permalink/355955228159284/) have tracheotomies and G-tubes.  This awareness led me to engage many private conversations with parents in efforts to learn what their current struggles are. I even wrote some of the companies offering pre-blended food varieties and questioned the source of their ingredients. Many[craniofacial](https://www.facebook.com/groups/CraniofacialEventsConnection/permalink/355955228159284/) parents must blend their child’s food for placement in[feeding tubes](https://www.functionalformularies.com/). While many choose healthier foods to mix such as fruits and vegetables, some also include meat and dairy. **The lack of mainstream food knowledge has caused many parents to *have ongoing concerns* about the *nutritional adequacy* of their diets. ** There are a few companies that offer inorganic pre-blended food alternatives to save time and money, and in many cases, there’s insurance coverage available.  The only safe brand I could locate is provided by[**Functional Formularies**](https://www.functionalformularies.com/), located in Centerville, Ohio. There is a current health epidemic occurring here within the U.S. that is especially affecting us in the disability communities because naturally, our bodies are more sensitive. However, the ongoing sick-care epidemic is affecting everyone everywhere. Evidence supporting these facts include the historical teachings of our ancestors, numerous case studies, movie documentaries, best-selling books, and personal testimonials, including my own.  Our country is ranked as having one of the lowest food qualities in the world. The toxic chemicals and[GMOs](https://www.nongmoproject.org/gmo-facts/) allowed in our foods are not allowed in other countries. Additionally, meat and dairy are highly inflammatory and carry unnatural compounds that are damaging to the human body. **We are left to suffer health disparities because we are consuming these harmful foods.** Leaders in the health industry, including many reputable doctors and health institutions, such as Kaiser Permanente are starting to recommend organic plant-based diets for treatment and reversal of chronic illness and disease. Studies have established that plant-based nutrition paves the way to miraculous cures for conditions including but not limited to COPD, Diabetes, Obesity, Alzheimer’s, Anemia, Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease and more.  While there is no cure-all for craniofacial disorders, there is vast room for improvement and nourishing medical relief through the commitment of organic veganism and herbal treatment. I’ve had sixteen reconstructive surgeries, and I am awaiting a second major jaw reconstruction. My breathing and mobility are affected daily, especially living at 7200 elevation. Before I adopted herbalism and a plant-based diet, I almost died in 2015 and became deathly ill. I was also taking 14 daily prescriptions, and I languished in physical illness and negative thought patterns. Since then I’ve eliminated all prescription drugs.
