What are the Benefits of Vitamin E?

One of the many benefits of Vitamin E is its contribution to healthy skin and hair. Vitamin E is abundant in tocotrienols and tocopherols.


Tocotrienols are usually found in rice bran and palm oil and are found to have double bonds whereas tocopherols are mostly found in vegetable oils.

Both are chemically different and each have slightly different health benefits. For one, tocotrienols are known to promote and increase the health of the brain, influence activity that combats cancer and even lower bad cholesterol.

The Science Behind Vitamin E:

There are scientific studies that have shown benefits of tocotrienols. As listed:

  • Heals bone fractures
  • Improvement of brain health and function
  • Have anticancer properties
  • Slow the buildup of plaque which reduces bad cholesterol and promote better cardiovascular health

In addition, Vitamin E has also shown to slow the progression of multiple sclerosis and manage its symptoms. In other cases, it can help you lose weight when paired with calcium due to its management of hunger.  

Overall, Vitamin E is taken as a supplement to boost one's immunity and one's mood that suggests a fight against depression.
