Karizza Cordero

Assuaged, Inc.

Public Health Intern

I am Karizza Mae Cordero, a current graduate student at George Washington University pursuing a Master's in Public Health, set to graduate in Spring 2024.

My passion lies in assisting those in underserved countries and communities with low socioeconomic status, explicitly focusing on enhancing maternal health. My overarching goal is to improve health equity in these audiences, recognizing that health equity is synonymous with creating opportunities for everyone to lead their healthiest lives.

Grounded in empathy, I am an individual who easily sympathizes by stepping into others' shoes to fully understand the primary issues they are struggling with regarding their well-being and health, a quality integral to public health.

As a prospective public health practitioner, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to educate individuals and communities on healthy behaviors. I am devoted to effecting positive change within these underserved communities through program planning or policy development to create meaningful improvements.

Beyond the professional realm, I enjoy leisurely reading on my Kindle during my free time and relish the opportunity to engage in ice skating whenever possible.

This passion traces back to my earlier years of casually rollerblading for fun in the park and eventually participating in professional ice skating lessons and competitions during my youth.
