My name is Isabel Torrez and I am a senior obtaining my bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Sciences with a minor in Public Health at the University of Southern California. Through my studies, I have gained skills in health research and writing as well as communication through speaking and writing in order to address major public health issues adequately. Through work and volunteer experience with several different organizations and departments, I have developed a strong sense of duty to the community and strive to accomplish this through my passion for public health.
I believe that through communicating the most accurate and helpful information to the community, public health researchers have the power to improve the health and well-being of others. After graduation, I intend to continue working in the public health sector, doing any kind of health research to improve health and human services in my various communities.
Through working with the Assuaged Foundation, I am focused on learning as much as possible from my peers and supervisors about how best to improve the health and well-being of others through research, informing, and communicating.
