I am Viswanachiyar Subramanian, a dentist and a public health graduate who is committed to making a meaningful impact in the field of Public health. During my undergraduate degree, I felt that my passion for healthcare should extend beyond oral health, and I decided to take general public health as that could help me reach more people and contribute my vision and initiatives on a broader scale.
As a public health student, I feel that health is interconnected, and I aspire to expand my service to addressing various aspects of healthcare. I believe in the power of public speaking, as I can educate and connect with communities effectively, raising awareness about the importance of health and well-being.
My experience as a public health intern at the Assuaged Foundation has provided me with opportunities to discuss health issues, draft policies, contribute to newsletters, and engage with a diverse group of individuals. I believe these help me gain valuable insights and help me grow in my career.
Beyond my professional aspirations, I find myself enjoying in meditating and am an active member of the Interfaith and Mindfulness Center. Additionally, working out at the gym keeps me motivated and helps manage my anxiety. Recently, I have discovered a love for cooking, which has become a wonderful way to learn new skills and stay connected to my roots by preparing my favorite dishes from home.
Through my journey, I aim to continue learning, growing, and making a difference in public health while embracing new experiences and personal growth along the way.
