Public Health Intern

I am Matthew Ginzburg, a current senior at Midwood High School set to graduate in June 2024. Born and raised in the bustling city of New York, I've always had a deep-seated fascination with numbers and problem-solving.

From a young age, I found joy in mathematics and exploring the intricacies of algebra and calculus. With my father and brother working in computer science, I was naturally exposed to computers and finance, sparking my interest in how mathematics applies to real-world scenarios.

Throughout high school, I've been actively involved in AP classes, however, I was experimenting with other subjects like history and science to see if any other subjects sparked my interest. After four AP classes in two years, I decided to take AP Computer Science A and AP Calculus AB to truly find out if I am interested in computer science and/or finance.

Yet, as graduation approaches and I excel in both classes, I find myself torn between two paths: computer science and finance. My passion for both ignited during my senior year where I excelled and was recommended by both teachers from each class to major in a field that would hopefully reflect my ability to excel.

I'm excited about the prospect of college, where I'll have the chance to delve deeper into these fields and explore my interests. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing soccer. Soccer provides me with a sense of balance and fulfillment, reminding me of the importance of pursuing my passions beyond the realm of mathematics, but also serves as a reminder that I should not stop searching for a career path that aligns with my interests.
